About the director...Hello, my name is Kevin Woody and I serve as Choral Director for both Dawson County Middle School and Riverview Middle School. After graduating from Dawson County High School in 2007, I pursued and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from North Georgia College and State University. After earning this degree, I taught for 3 years in Habersham County at Hilliard A. Wilbanks Middle School. While here, my choirs consistently received Superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation and were even granted the opportunity to perform on stage with Kimberly Schalpman of the GRAMMY award winning Country band, Little Big Town. In 2015, I accepted a position back "home" in Dawson County and I am currently entering my fifth year in my teaching career. In 2014, I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching (Curriculum and Instruction) from Georgia Southern University, and I am currently working on completing my Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. Aside from teaching, I also serve as Music and Choir Director of Liberty Baptist Church in Dawson County. I am married to Lauren, and together, we have a 2 and a half year-old son, Hampton. I love singing, teaching, and working with the youth of my hometown. I truly feel blessed to serve as Choral Director of the Dawson County Junior High Chorus and look forward to what opportunities this school year holds.
